Apex Landfill in Steubenville, Ohio has their operating license request for 2014 tabled by health board

Herald-Star is reporting (http://www.heraldstaronline.com/page/content.detail/id/591461/Health-board-tables-license-request.html?nav=5010) that until the Jefferson County Board of Health receives a full report of the recent notices of violation at the facility, it will not consider the landfill’s request for a 2014 operating license.  From September 23 – 25, the OEPA conducted odor surveillance monitoring and found “detectible landfill gas odors” extending up to three miles south and west of the landfill.
